Our Story

King of Donair's StoryKing of Donair’s roots reach back to a small tavern in Greece, where the donair recipe was conceived and brought to North America. Our Quinpool Road location in Halifax, Nova Scotia, was the first to introduce this great concept to Canada in 1973 and that original secret recipe along with fresh, lean ground beef is still used in all our locations on a daily basis.

With this great recipe, our customers now enjoy our famous Donair Pizza and Donair Sub. To improve on our process, we have just introduced the first electric donair knife to Canada. This allows us to serve you a much more flavorful, tender and uniformly cut donair.

Our daily, fresh-prepared dough with the very best quality cheese, along with the freshest vegetables and our very own secret sauce have made the King of Donair’s Pizza very popular and famous!

Our King of Donair team has always had a long-standing passion for “real” quality and each and everyone is committed to finding better ways to serve you.
